The House will be part of and run by Skipton Baptist Church. Each day will be shaped by rhythms of prayer that people can access as they wish. We hope people of all faiths and none will feel welcome and at ease in The House.

Our vision is of those who have found hope working alongside those finding hope. For example, those helped by the Food Bank now helping with the volunteer team; those who have walked with depression and anxiety sitting with those who suffer.

Appropriately trained and equipped volunteers will work here. Called Hosts, they will emphasise our desire to create a homely environment, offering hospitality to all the community.

We have used the names of rooms in the House to reflect the culture we want the building to have – a House with Open Doors, a Home. The rooms' names reflect their potential uses, in keeping with the ethos of hospitality and welcome.
